Orange Squash

This is silent on purpose. Sound usually overwhelms visual rhythm, if it’s present. This little loop took at least a dozen hours to stretch and tug at, and each of the little pauses, hesitations, and churning parts that rush forward, each moment, is shaped with care. The imagery comes from the surfaces of some of my oil paintings (landscapes).  “Visual music” has become a major phenomenon since my days with Brakhage, often as moving decor for dance music. Very enjoyable. In those days, we were into undivided attention, silent if the maker’s train of thought was silent, and, thereby, we would have a different kind of experience.
